Citizenship Foundation's Bar National Mock Trial Competition

"Acland Burghley sixth form law students took part in the National Bar Mock trial competition sponsored by the Citizenship Foundation. Sixteen year 13 students took part in the Mock trial held at Southwark Crown Court on Saturday 26th November and were judged by full time professional judges. The students role-played being barristers, witnesses and jurors. They were assisted in the preparation for the competition by their teacher Miss. Giovanni, and barristers Lawrence Power and Jacqueline Caspi from 4 Kings Bench Walk chambers who were surprised they did not win! They performed to a tremendous standard, developing invaluable presentation skills and impressed many at the court. Charlie Rose and Carolyn Watson have been invited back to Inner Temple to perform their case against training barristers! Watch this space! Congratulations to all involved from the Law department."

After gaining a third place bronze medal in the Citizenship Foundation's Bar National Mock Trial Competition, students from Acland Burghley School perform their roles before members of 4KBW. The students showed their appreciation by presenting gifts to members that helped them in the preparation for the mock trial.
